The International tournament for the "Madarski Konnik" cup for men and women, Shumen 27.04.2013
      On 29.04.2013 in the "Mladost" hall in Shumen took place the International tournament in Shinkyokushin karate for the "Madarski Konnik\ cup for men and women in kumite and kata. This was the eight edition of the competition, which started in 2006. Following the rules no national competitors or black belts are allowed to participate in kumite, since the main reason behind the tournament is to develop younger fighters. The competition was very strong and in it took part 69 karatekas representing 16 clubs, three of which from Croatia - "Sosai" Zagreb, "Mladost" Samobor and "AIK" - Varazhinski Toplitze.
      The audience could witness many close and attractive matches, many of which ended by vazaari or ippon. A worthy performance was made by the competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen, who won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. In the men 65kg category Bogomil Tiholov took second place after decisively winning over Simeon Nikolov of ASKC "Trakia" Plovdiv in his semifinal. Due to doctor's decision and a leg injury Shumen's karateka could not go out and fight in his final, having to settle for second. A bronze medal in kata was awarded to the chairman of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen - Stoian Obretenov. The referees decided to award Shumen's other fighter Mihail Dobrev with the prize for the best debut, honoring the name of Pavlin Petrov. This award holds great value to all of Shumen's karatekas, at it is in memory of their tragically lost friend.
      The cup awards "Madarski Konnik" for the best technique were awarded to Ivanka Deleva and Petar Rusev of ASKC "Trakia".
     Prizes for great fighting spirit were given to Tsveta Ignatova of "Kanku-kai"and Iordan Rachev of SC "Kyokushin" Lovech.
     The traditional tournament for the "Madarski Konnik" cup is organised by the Municipality of Shumen, SC "Kyokushin" Shumen and the Buglarian Karate Shinkyokushin Federation.
     Sponsors of the competition were the Municipality of Shumen, "Ultima" ltd, "ICON" ltd, "3S СОТ", "Strongstroi" ltd, "Agrosemena" ltd, "Networks - Bulgaria" ltd.

The National championships for kadets and children up to 12 years of age., Plovdiv 30.03.2013
       On 30.03.2013 in the "Olimpiada" hall in Plovdiv were held the National championships in Shinkyokushin karate for kadets and children up to 12 years of age. The competitions, organised perfectly by the hosts of ASKC "Trakia" Plovdiv, were very strong and in them took part the young talents of the Bulgarian Karate-do Kyokushin Federation from clubs of the whole country. The audience could witness many close fights, in which the youthful karatekas showed great technical growth, strong fighting spirit and excellent physical conditioning.
      A very strong performance was made by the competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen, who won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Republican champions became:
     1.Engin Mustafa in the children up to 12 years 38kg category, who showed great growth in his game.
     2.Dzhaner Shukri in the kadets 55kg category, who won his semifinal by avasete ippon after very well placed djodan hidza geri.
     3.Ivelina Petrova in the kadets 55kg category, winning her semifinal with ippon after a very strong series of fist strikes and djodan mawashi geri and in her final soundly defeating Tsvetelina Ivancheva of SC "Tornado" Pazardzhik. By unanimous decision the referees also awarded her the prize for the best technique. In this year Ivelina Petrova became republican champion twice, winning first place in juniors barely a month ago.
     Republican runner-up is Ahmet Sabri in the children up to 12 years 35kg category.
     Bronze Medal earned Victor Yuliyanov at cadets cat. to 50 kg.
     Kaloian Georgiev, Iordan Nikolov, Plamen Rusev, Alexander Stanchev and Ali Aliev all fought very well, even though they did not win awards.
     The competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen were able to take part in the National championships for kadets and children up to 12 years of age due to the timely help of the Municipality of Shumen. The karatekas of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen continue their preparation for the upcoming tournament in Shinkyokushin karate for men and women for the "Madarski Konnik" cup, which will take place in the end of April in Shumen.

The National championship for men and women, Sofia 10.03.2013
        On 10.03.2013 in the "Sikonko" hall in Sofia was held the National championship in Shinkyokushin karate for men and women in kumite and kata. The competition was very strong and in it participated competitors from clubs of the whole country, as the audience witnessed many close and attractive matches, many of which ended by vazaari or ippon.
      A great performance was made by the competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen. The two-time european champion Bogomil Tiholov became republican champion for the ninth time - this time in the men 65kg category. He won his semifinal against the seasoned Ivelin Venkov of KKC "Kanku-Kai" Sofia with ippon in regular time and then fought a brilliant final match against the european runner-up Stefan Lotarov of ASKC "Trakia" Plovdiv, winning by ippon in regular time and very deservingly calimed the highest spot on the winner's ladder.
     Shumen's other karateka in the 80kg category Petromil Stefanov also fought well, although not making it to the awards.
     The competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen continue their preparation for the upcoming National championships for kadets and children up to 12 years of age, which will take place on 30.03.2013 in Plovdiv.
