National championships for children under 10, and children under 14 years of Plovdiv on 12/04/2014
       On 12.04.2014 in the “Olimpiada” hall in Plovdiv were held the Nationals in Shinkyokushin karate for children up to 10 and 14 years of age. The competiton was very strong and in it on two tatami took part close to 200 children of clubs from the whole country, members of the Bulgarian Karate Shinkyokushin Federation. SC “Kyokushin” Shumen’s team made a great performance, winning 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals.
          Republican champions are:
     1.Kaloian Marchev in the children up to 10 years 28kg category;
     2.Ivan Ivanov in the children up to 10 years 30kg category, who was a level higher than his competition and effortlessly defeated his opponents on his way to the final. This is the second title for Shumen’s young fighter, having become republican champion in children up to 12 years of age just a few weeks ago;
     3.Kaloian Kolev in the children up to 10 years 34kg category;
     4.Engin Mustafa in the children up to 14 years 42kg category;
     5.Serpil Galib in the children up to 14 years 45kg category.
          Second places were taken by:
     1.Kaan Shukri in the children up to 14 years category, who defeated all his opponents prior to the final by vazaari and ippon;
     2.Grigor Hristov in the children up to 14 years category, who returned to the tatami after a long absence, during which he was healing after a great injury. Shumen’s competitor decisively won over his initial opponents by vazaari and ippon. Only in the final was he affected by the injury in the previous match and our fighter had to take home the silver;
     3.Ahmet Sabri in the children up to 14 years category;
     4.Tsvetan Urumov, who made a successful debut in the children up to 14 years category.
          Bronze medalists became:
     1.Simeon Belchev in the children up to 10 years category;
     2.Lili Aleksanyan, who made her debut in the children up to 10 years category;
     3.Simeon Simeonov in the children up to 14 years category;
     4.Roberto Vasilev in the children up to 14 years category;
     5.Arzu Fikretova in the children up to 14 years category.
     The competitors of SC “Kyokushin” Shumen were able to take part in the Nationals for children up to 10 and 14 years of age thanks to the timely help of the Municipality of Shumen.

Mini festival of Japanese culture, city of Shumen on 11/04/2014
     On 11.04.2014 at 17:30 the Center for International Collaboration and Projects of Shumen University “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski” together with the International Cultural Exchange Association (ICEA) in Japan with lector Mrs. Noriko Ishimaru organized a mini-festival of Japanese culture in Shumen.
     The festival attracted great interest in wing 1 of Shumen University. In an attempt to touch the century-long traditions and modern culture of the Land of the Rising Sun many participants got together for a free course, lead by Mrs. Noriko Ishimaru, in Japanese – students of the course in Chinese; representatives of Shumen’s eastern martial arts clubs – karate, aikido and kendo; students from Bulgaria, Germany, Poland and Danemark, who have come via the exchange program of Shumen’s Alma Mater; teachers and curios citizens.
      For them Mrs. Noriko Ishimaru, together with her friend from Tokyo Mieko and her daughter Naomi Fukazawa, presented japanese animated movies, to the delight of the viewers, especially the youngest trainees in the martial arts clubs.
      The projected film is a very popular creation of Hayao Miyazaki and studio Gibli. In the end was shown the distinctive japanese cuisine, the dishes that roused the crowd’s appetite being sushi and oshiruko.
     On 21.05.2014 with a festive program the Shumen University “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski” celebrates its patron’s day. On this occasion the Center for International Collaboration and Projects of Shumen University “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski” together with the International Cultural Exchange Association (ICEA) in Japan with lector Mrs. Noriko Ishimaru will hold the now traditional day of japanese culture.

National championships children up to 12 and Cadets, Dimitrovgrad 29.03.2014
       On 29.03.2014 in the "Mladost" hall in Dimitrovgrad were held the National championships in Shinkyokushin karate for kadets and children up to 12 years of age. The competition, impecalby hosted by SC "Kyokushin" Dimitrovgrad, was very strong and in it took part 172 fighters from clubs of the Bulgarian Shinkyokushin Federation of the whole country. The audience watched many close matches in which the young karatekas showed great technical growth, strong fighting spirit and excellent physical conditioning. An exceptional performance was made by the competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen who won 6 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.
     Republican champions became:
     1.Ivan Ivanov in the children up to 12 years 29kg category, who won his first two matches by ippon after a well placed hidari djodan mawashi geri. He won his semifinal by knocking his opponent out with chundan ushiro tobi geri and in his final he was a level higher than his opponent, winning by avasete ippon with djodan mawashi geri and chudan gyaku tzuki. By unanimous decision Shumen's young karateka also received the award for the best techinque.
     2.Kaloian Kolev in the childre up to 12 years of age 35kg category, who won his semifinal by vazaari with djodan mawashi geri and decisively defeated his final opponent by vazaari with djodan mawashi geri and ippon with low kick.
     3.Ali Aliev in the children up to 12 years of age +49kg category, who won his first match by vazaari after a very strong low kick, after which he overcame much taller and heavier opponents by decision.
     4.Gunai Galibov in the kadets 50kg category, who won his semifinal by ippon with chudan hidza geri.
     5.Nesrin Nezhdet in the kadets 50kg category, who in her semifinal knocked her opponent out with chudan hidza geri and the won her final again by ippon after a very strong low kick.
     6.Dzhaner Shukri in the kadets 60kg category, who in his final decisively overcame his opponent by ippon with chudan tzuki. This is the Shumen karateka's second title for the year - just a month ago he became republican champion in the juniors 60kg category.
     Republican runner-ups are:
     1.Remzi Husein in children up to 12 years, who won his first match and semifinal by vazaari with djodan mawashi geri.
     2.Kaan Shukri in kadets, who in his semifinal held on to a convincing victory by vazaari after a well executed djodan mawashi geri.
     3.Serpil Galib in kadets, who fought a brilliant semifinal match, winning by ippon after a strong series of fists and chudan hidza geri.
     Bronze medals were won by: Kaloian Marchev, who competes in children up to 10 years, but fought very well with the 12 year-olds, winning his first two matches by vazaari; Barash Dzhelil in children up to 12 years, who showed very sophisticated tactical game and great fighting spirit. Strong matches were fought by Ioana Terzieva and Roberto Vasilev, who needed just a little bit more to get to the prizes.
     The competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen were able to take part in the National championships for kadets and children up to 12 years of age thanks to the timely help of the Municipality of Shumen. The competitors of SC "Kyokushin" Shumen continue their preparation for the upcoming National championships for children up to 10 and up to 14 years of age, which will take place in Plovdiv in April.
